What wasn't supposed to be an eventful weekend, turned rather eventful. My cousin just got back from Vancouver this week, and on Saturday night we decided to hit the thriving metropolis of the 'Nish for a little night time fun. Too bad we couldn't foresee the future, as I am sure that we would have gladly stayed home and watched re-runs of The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. The night started off innocently enough....we were just sitting in my kitchen catching up, and exchanging vital pieces of gossip. Who knew then what the night would bring. We left my place and went to town. We were supposed to meet one of L's friends at her house, and we started to head out there...I wasn't really sure where we were going, and it was dark and hard to see. We pulled into what we thought was the driveway to the trailer park, but it turned out to be someone's house. I was kinda embarrassed, and the people in this house were watching us from their window as we tried to turn around. I accidently began to turn on their lawn (did I mention that is was darker than the inside of a cow outside?), as soon as I realized this though, I went farther down the driveway and turned around in the actual turn around spot. The next thing we know, there was someone banging on the back end of my car: It was the man from the house!! The man could have been Christopher Walkin's twin he was that scary...white hair flying around his head, and big deep gruff voice, and he was angry . I tried to explain the situation, how I had just missed the driveway, and I didn't realize that I was on his lawn, etc, etc. He was having none of that...he proceeded to go over to assess the damage done to his lawn, we started to leave, because frankly this man was scary, and I didn't think that we had done anything wrong except make a really wrong turn, in every possible way. But Mr. Scary Lawn man wanted none of that...he told us to wait, me being the passive person that I am, actually considered waiting until L hissed at me to keep on moving. The whole situation was just crazy, and I decided that she was right, and I didn't waste any more time in the Land of Insanity. We peeled out of the driveway and headed next door to the trailer court leaving the crazy man to his craziness. The whole situation was just mind boggling and we got to our destination and rehashed the craziness of the whole situation. We were sitting for about 5 minutes, when suddenly a car pulled into the driveway. L went to see who it was, and she said it was the cops. I didn't, and couldn't believe her. But, she was right, Crazy Christopher Walkin's twin had called the cops! I was floored, so Mr. Cop came in and I told him that the whole situation was completely innocent, and that there was no reason for the cops to be called, and for the crazy man to be so irate. But apparently getting lost is the equivalent to causing "mischief" in this town, and that is a punishable offence. The cop was a complete ass, and probably figured that we were two stupid little women who had no idea what end was up. He took all our information, all the while talking down to us, and telling us how mad he would be if he was in the same situation. He finally left to go talk to the Crazy Man, and see if he was going to press charges or not. Mr. Cop was back in record time, and surprise, surprise there was no damage to the lawn other than a tire track. He eventually left, trailing a line of slime with him....I was blown away by how unbelieveably cocky this cop was....and it made me never want to deal with the cops again, or at least this one in particular. So that was the start to the night, and it just kept going, without really getting any better. I ended up apologizing to some igit that I had a raging crush on in high school who ended up breaking my heart into 1000 pieces for everything that I did. I am still shaking my head at this this morning, as it should have been him apologizing to me for being solely responsible for one of the worst nights of my life, and then some. But oh well...I guess it is all a part of my Self Betterment plan. There was even more drama, and tears, and whiskey, and pizza, and the reformation of a crush. So overall an interesting night if nothing else. Happy Holidays!
