Happy Monday. Well I fixed the friggin' "CHANGE OIL SOON" light. But I managed to break the panel that hides one of the many fuse boxes in my car. But in breaking the panel off, I did come to the conclusion that my french isn't as great as I thought it was...Apparently the box that I was looking for was under the hood. Labeled in big white letters: OIL LIGHT RESET BUTTON. Whoops. But now that the silly panel is broken, it is constantly falling off and getting in the way of my feet. Short of throwing this panel out the window, I don't know what I am going to do. I am thinking that crazy glue might be a solution. Oh the tangled web we weave, when we first set out to fix the car. ------------- Listening to K-Os' new album. Love it, love it, love it. I bought it because I was addicted to his new single Krabbuckit, but now I love the whole CD, especially the rock/hiphop duo with Sam Roberts "Dirty Water". Can't get enough of it, and it is such a nice change from all the other hip hop acts who only talk about their bitches and ho's. Very nice change, and it comes highly recommended. In my literary world, I am currently reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. What an amazing book! It is a 14 year old girl narrating her story from heaven after she was murdered by a neighbor. She is watching her family and friends try to make sense of their lives after loosing her, all the while she is discovering her version of heaven...it has everything that she wants. All the building are shaped like her highschool, but with swing sets, because that is the way that she wants it. She has a beautiful gazebo to sit in and watch the stars from, and green fields to play in. While at times it is rather melancholy, it also funny, heart-warming and insightful. It also made me think of a boy who died too young. This was a boy, who when he saw a frightened friend, would hold her hand and jump with her, making anything seem possible. Reading this book, I was thinking about what this boy's version of heaven was, and I hope that somewhere within his heaven, is the bridge where he helped his frightened friend jump off with him, into the unknown, giving her the world. The girl always thinks about that boy, and hopes that he is happy....
