In our never ending quest to find the perfect ice cream, last week we went to a little conveience store a few blocks from work. We didn't get our hopes up, as we knew that this jaunt could well be very disappointing. At first glace the store is rather unassuming. The windows are plastered with the typical posters announcing Daddy Day Care at the Park, and LOST CAT posters from 1998. The guy behind the counter was sweating profusely due to the excessive heat outside, and lack of air conditioning outside. It was as we made our way into the store that we saw them. Oh so many of them, sitting there in their little individual wrappers, with what can only be guessed as a cool, chewy exterior and an even cooler, creamier inside. It was a freezer full of homemade ice cream sandwiches, made with every cookie imaginable. We have found our mecca. We were both so excited and so disappointed that we had wasted so much time eating ice cream from other less savory venues, when this one was right under our noses! Now we had it all! And once we looked around, we realized that the store had it all as well. On one display alone at the front of the cash there was: 1 receipt book, 1 ruler, 1 pair of toenail clippers, 4 bags of clodhoppers candy, and 1 bag of beef jerky. Ladies and Gentlemen,we had found the finite end of the universe. We were afraid to leave because we would certainly spontaneously combust because we had reached this fine place. There was nothing that this man didn't have, there was a super soaker above the freezer in the back; on another wall there was a lawn sprinkler, there were even mugs that at point could only be obtained by winning a contest. HE HAD IT ALL. CD had to ask if there was ever a person who came into the store looking for something that he didn't have. He looked disappointed and pointed at C. and said "Ask her". C. had asked for coffee icecream, possibly the only thing that he didn't have. It is simply amazing. Needless to say we are going back on Friday.
