Snowbound...Again.

I made it back from The City yesterday...after leaving on Friday night, I was beginning to think if I would ever make it home. We had yet another blizzard...is it EVER going to end? Despite being snowed in, I had a fantastic time up at L's. Highlights included:

  • Partaking in tequila shots and cheap draft at Trivia Night at DalTech on Friday after I arrived. Seriously considering picking up a guy whose friends said that he had every strain of Hepatitis from A-Z. Another one of my stellar picks. Thankfully, we left all boys there at the Tin Room.

  • At one point, I was on my way to the bathroom, but once I got there, I looked at the door, and couldn't figure it out...there was no door handle...I scraped at the door, searching for a handle. Nothing. So I thought I would try and yank it open without a door handle, but once again nothing, except for a couple of broken nails. I slumped against the wall in front of the door, pissed off that this bar would allow the bathroom to go handle-less! A group of girls eventually came along to go to the washroom, I broke the bad news to them: we weren't getting into the washroom because there was no door handle. One of the girls just looked at me with pity, and turned back towards the door, pushed it open and went in. Whoopsy.

  • Deciding at 3:30am that L and I should go to the house of her crush and see what he was up to (for some reason we didn't think that he would be sleeping, like most normal people). So we went, dragging along some guy that we picked up outside the bar, initially the taxi was waiting out side with KT and this guy. Somehow L and I made our way inside the apartment, and woke up roommate #1 of the crush. We just piled into his room and into his bed, asking what he was doing tonight. We should have realized by the lack of lights and his sleepy voice that he was very much asleep. We hounded him for information on the whereabouts of L's crush, for some reason we kept asking for his phone number, but that didn't really make much sense, because roommate #1 kept telling us that he was just down the hall. Once I had this information, I went to find The Crush. I was pounding on his door, telling him to open up, he finally opened the door, and he didn't look at all like I remembered him. Oh wait...I had just woke up Roommate #2. Congratulations Krista, you are even more of an idiot than you thought! Went back to Roommate #1's room and scolded him for sending me to the wrong room, and then fell back into the fit of giggles that I couldn't get rid of for most of the night. At this point, we realized that the taxi was still outside waiting for us. I decided to take the initiative and tell it to keep on moving, we were staying where we were, invited or not. KT wanted to know about the guy though...it was decided that he would stay with us. So while he stood in the foyer, L and I were up to our regular antics. After waking up all the people that weren't The Crush, we finally managed to wake up the right person, but he was sick in bed, and even though he was perfectly hospitable, we realized that we shouldn't be there, so we left and went home. There was lots of embarrassment flying around when we woke up on Saturday morning.

  • Sunday was a complete snow day. We didn't even leave the house. Had a great feast of Mexican food, and watched sad, depressing movies all day. Nice precursor to the shack happiness that came on Monday.

  • Drove home on Tuesday afternoon to find that the Plow Gods had made my driveway beautiful and almost snow free. But I realized that there was no way to plow my front porch which had at least 3 feet of snow covering it. Even now that I have shoveled a little path, I feel like a mouse in a maze the snow is so high.

So that was my weekend, I am back at work, and desperately trying to get some work done before the boss comes at the beginning of the month. Although I have to laugh, because so far this morning, I have done nothing, so I am not sure how true that last statement about desperation is. When am I going to learn??
